Helping You Understand Your Relief Options
We know this is a challenging time, and you may have questions about our 0% personal loan and mortgage payment assistance programs. Below, we’ve answered some of the most common questions to help you understand eligibility, terms, and how to apply. If you don’t see your question here, please reach out to your local branch — we’re here to help.
Who is eligible for the 0% personal loan?
This loan is available to Cape & Coast Bank customers who are federal employees or federal contractors affected by the government shutdown. Applicants must have an active deposit account with Cape & Coast Bank.
How much can I borrow and what are the terms?
The loan amount is based on 75% of your federal gross monthly income using your year-to-date average. You can borrow between $500 and $10,000 per furloughed employee. The loan is due in a single payment — no monthly payments — and comes with a 0% interest rate, giving you some breathing room while your pay is paused.
What documentation do I need to apply?
To apply, you’ll need:
- Two most recent paystubs showing year-to-date earnings, dated within 60 days of your application
- A Shutdown Furlough Notice (for federal employees) or a Stop Work Order (for federal contractors) issued by your agency or employer
- Proof of your Social Security Number (SSN card, W2, or first page of your federal tax return)
- An active Cape & Coast Bank deposit account
How do I apply and how quickly will I receive funds?
Visit one of our convenient branch locations to complete the loan application in person. Applications for furloughed employees are fast-tracked to provide relief as quickly as possible, so you can focus on what matters most.
