Why did we decide to change the name?
One big reason is that our old name had nine syllables, which made it harder for people to remember. Our new name is much easier to say, and it reflects our vision for thoughtful growth and deeper connections across the region. As always, we’ll continue providing the same local expertise and personalized service you have relied on for more than a century.
Is the bank being bought or sold? Is this part of a merger?
Absolutely not! This is a brand evolution, not a change in ownership or structure. We’re investing in our future as an independent community bank, and our new brand reflects our commitment to growing with the communities we serve.
Are we still a community bank?
Yes! The new brand reflects our continued commitment to our communities and our roots. We’re just showing up with a stronger, more modern voice. We’re growing intentionally, not losing our community focus.
Will you need new checks or a new debit card?
You will not need new checks or a debit card; your current ones will continue to work just fine. If you would like checks with our new name, we’re happy to help you order them. We do plan to re-issue debit cards to all our clients, and we’ll keep you updated on the exact timing. If you cannot wait, please stop by a branch and our team will issue you a new card.
Are any products changing? Will rates, fees, or account terms change?
No. All accounts, services, and support remain the same. Rates, fees, and account terms are not affected by the rebrand. However, you’ll notice that a few of our accounts are no longer called “Positively Different.” While we’ve dropped this from the name, the benefits are not changing for the accounts. With the simpler naming, we’ve made the accounts easier to find.
Will online banking or the mobile app look different?
Yes! You’ll notice some cosmetic changes with the design of our online banking system and mobile app, but the functionality remains the same. Your mobile app should ask you to update. If it doesn’t, please delete the app and visit the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to re-download it. The app can be found by searching for “Cape & Coast Bank.”
